Cystic Hygroma

Abstract
Cystic hygroma is a congenital malformation of the lymphatic system in which there is a benign overgrowth of lymphatic vessels. Most of these lesions are found in the neck, few are located in the axilla and the remainder are scattered through the body. The majority of cystic hygromas appear within the first year of life and almost 90 per cent are evident before the second year. The only effective treatment for cystic hygroma is surgical treatment. We experienced a case of cystic hygroma involving the neck and the ipsilateral axilla in the 12 month old male infant. We report this case with a brief review of the literatures.
